PERFECT FALL FAMILY SESSION IN ANDOVER, NEW JERSEY


September is my absolute favorite month for family sessions. The weather is usually perfect, it starts to get a little cooler, and the leaves are just beginning to change. It really is such a beautiful time of year for family photos in Sussex County, NJ.


This sweet family of four was so much fun to photograph. Their two toddler boys were absolutely hilarious and adorable and we spent the session running, playing, laughing, and getting all that toddler energy out.


This is exactly how I love my family sessions to be!!


I don't want kids to feel like they have to sit still and smile at the camera the whole time. I want them to have fun. I want to capture the real laughter, the silly moments, the running, the little interactions between siblings, and all of those genuine moments that happen when everyone is just enjoying being together.


Of course, we got some beautiful family portraits too, but my favorite images from this session were the completely candid moments where everyone was laughing and just being themselves.


The outfits and colors you wear truly matter a lot! You don't want everyone to match. What works best is when you coordinate the colors rather than everyone wearing the exact same thing. Choosing colors and tones that work well together creates a more natural, cohesive look while still allowing everyone's individual style to show through. And I am always here to help make that happen!


The location spot is also important but luckily Sussex County has so many beautiful spots for family photography, especially in the fall. I love locations around Andover, NJ for their open fields, wooded areas, beautiful trails, and natural scenery. It's truly all you need!


I love family sessions so much, and this one was the perfect reminder of why. Give me a beautiful September evening, a fun family, and a couple of energetic toddlers, and I'm soooo happy. 🤎
