There’s something so meaningful about documenting a family in the middle of building a life together. In the middle of the chaos. Chasing a toddler around while expecting another baby, fixing up their forever home — smack in the middle of the days they will someday miss dearly. This storytelling maternity session in Sussex County, New Jersey captured exactly that.


Inside their home, we let the quiet moments unfold naturally. Tiny hands — of course with a toy car in hand — resting on mom’s belly, reading books together on the couch, chomping on crackers, and eventually running free outside. The photos we captured told this family’s story so honestly and beautifully.


Their property alone told its own story. Beautifully renovated rooms filled with warmth and character, while other parts of the home were still mid-project, waiting to be brought to life. It felt like such a reflection of this season they’re in: unfinished in some ways, but already so full of love. Every part of this session felt personal, grounded, and so incredibly real.
